SGA will be hosting its first Open Mic Night on Friday, February 19 where students can perform in the High School courtyard and pick up grade t-shirts! Have you been rehearsing?
Friday, February 19 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM in the High School courtyard/lunch area. Bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy this glow in the dark concert style layout!
All FAU High School students are invited to attend this event, and you are allowed to bring guests! If you are performing and would like to bring a family member or friend to watch you do your thing, we welcome you to do so! HOWEVER, if your guest misbehaves or causes any trouble you will face the consequences for their actions and can risk suspension.
Admission is FREE for all FAUHS students! All we ask is that you wear the cool glow sticks that we will provide you with. Guests do not have to pay for admission but if they would like a set of glow sticks they will have to pay $1.
Food and drinks are also FREE for all FAUHS students! If a guest would like food they have to pay $3 for two slices of pizza and a drink.
WHO CAN PERFORM?
Anyone who wants to perform can perform! We will have 20 available 5 minute performance spots that you can sign up for within the first 30 minutes of the event.
WHAT CAN I PERFORM?
ANYTHING! If you want to sing, get up there and sing to your heart’s content, if you want to recite poetry, go ahead! Be creative and showcase your talents! SGA will provide you with two microphones, two microphone stands, two loud speakers with stands, one Aux cord, one guitar cord, one screen and projector, and two stools to sit on. Be very careful with the equipment, if you damage it you risk having to pay to repair it. We also ask that you keep your performance acts school appropriate. If you have any questions about performing email Raquel Dumé (email@example.com).
At Open Mic Night you will also have the opportunity to pick up class shirts if you bought one, to sign class shirts, and to catch up with your friends!
Open Mic Night is an event you won’t want to miss! We hope to see you there!
